What makes you different from a traditionally gallery?

The goal of Americanflat is to make great artwork affordable for everyone. Instead of offering a physical space at a gallery, we offer our collection online to give you 24/7 access.  Our no-hassle return policy gives our satisfied customers the peace of mind that they need to discover and buy great art online.  

In addition, we want you to get to know our artists firsthand. Americanflat offers you the opportunity to read our artists' bios and view video interviews. This allows you to hear directly from the artist as they explain how their pieces were made, where their inspiration came from, and what the artwork means to them.

How do you make art affordable?

In order to understand why Americanflat sells art at a lower price point than traditionally offered by galleries, it’s essential to understand how the art gallery industry works. In most cases, galleries sell artwork by offering a 50/50 commission to the artist who fronts the cost of the materials to the gallery. In most cases, especially in those with under-recognized artists, galleries buy on consignment and any unsold pieces are returned to the artist (even though the artist fronted the costs of making the actual piece).

Americanflat has a different approach to art sales. Instead of selling on consignment and asking the artist to front the cost of making multiple editions of his/her work, Americanflat reproduces the artist’s work using the giclee on canvas method. The result is a beautiful, affordable, museum-quality canvas. 

How is Americanflat’s artwork crafted?

Each Americanflat piece is made with the highest quality materials.  This printing process uses non-toxic and fade-resistant ink, which is guaranteed to last for over 70 years.  Our wood canvas boards are crafted to Americanflat specifications within the United States. All canvases are stretched in Baltimore, Maryland and are each individually inspected for accuracy before shipping.

What is your return policy?

All returns are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please email info@americanflat.com with Americanflat Returns and your order number in the subject and a customer service representative with return your message within 24-hours.
